  • Wheat flour, white, plain1.25× cup (175 g)
  • Butter10.5× tablespoon (126 g)
  • Sugar, white10× tablespoon (120 g)
  • Vanilla sugar2× portion (16 g)
  • Ground Cinnamon2× pinch (2 g)

How to make Apple crumble

  1. 1. Peel, de-core and dice the apples into medium pieces. Do not slice the apple too small, as it may disintegrate after baking and the fruit will not have the desired consistency.

  2. 2. Put the apples in a bowl, sprinkle with the vanillin sugar and cinnamon.

  3. 3. Arrange the apples in a shallow casserole dish and leave for a while. Meanwhile heat the oven up to 180 C and prepare the crumble.

  4. 4. Pour the flour and sugar into a bowl. Cut the cold butter into small pieces and add to the bowl.

  5. 5. Rub the butter into the flour and sugar by hand until the ingredients combine. The texture does not have to be smooth, but the butter must blend with the flour and sugar.

  6. 6. Sprinkle the prepared crumble evenly over the apple.

  7. 7. Place the casserole dish in the heated oven and bake until the crumble turns a golden colour (around 30 minutes). The apple will bubble from below.

  8. 8. Remove from the oven and set aside for 5 minutes before serving.
