  • Self Raising Flour225 g
  • Tea infusion with semi-skimmed milk1× cup (220 g)
  • Medium Free Range Eggs2× piece (120 g)
  • Golden Caster Sugar50 g
  • Almonds2× tablespoon (30 g)
  • Baking powder1× teaspoon (4 g)

How to make Ades Fat free fruit loaf (with recipie)

  1. 1. Add dried fruit and hot steeped black tea into a bowl and soak overnight or for a minimum of 8 hours.

  2. 2. .Add baking powder to the flour and mix well.

  3. 3. Whisk both eggs. Add to fruit and tea mix. Combine well. Now add baking powder & flour mix. Combine well. (Add nuts to top if wanted)

  4. 4. Pour mix onto a well greased 2lb tin or line with wax paper.

  5. 5. Place into a preheated oven 170c / 340f / gas 3 / fan 160. for 1hr - 1h 10m. Check with skewer pushed into cake. If it's clean it's cooked, if residue on skewer it needs another 10 mins.

  6. 6. Eat with custard hot or wait till cold.Makes 8 portions. Will store for 2-3 weeks best wrapped in tin foil. This cake will freeze well

  7. 7. Options. Nuts can be changed, added or omitted.Cherries can be added after the 8hr time but not listed in nutrition.Orange or lemon zest can be added to taste.

  8. 8. Takes 5min prep, 8hr soak, 5 min to combine, 70m cooking
